On November 27, 2006, WJJO hosted Jada Pinkett Smith and her heavy metal band, Wicked Wisdom, in Madison. Jada is also an accomplished television and film actress with notable roles in Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolutions, Collateral, and Ali to name a few.

Jada and her band were here to raise money for the MPD K-9 Unit. Fundraising events included a Jobsite Lunch Invasion (winning bidder: Air Temperature Services with a $575 winning bid), which featured lunch for 20 delivered in the WJJO Hummer with an MPD K-9 team and Jada; a VIP dinner at The Dry Bean with Jada and each guest couple took home an autographed guitar; a Wicked Wisdom concert at The Dry Bean; and a Silent Auction.

Jada personally donated $3,000 to Capital K-9s! Despite the pouring rain, post-Thanksgiving blues, and Packers playing on Monday Night Football, a net total of $5,632 was raised. We are grateful for Jada's and everyone else's generosity and support.
