Robbery

03/17/2010 Incident Report

Wednesday night, an armed robber put a filet knife to the neck of a 49-year old clerk at the Dollar Tree, and 1759 Thierer Rd. He stole a cash register and fled on foot. Madison Police, including members of the East District's Community Police Team (CPT), were quickly on scene. One CPT member spotted the suspect, sweating profusely, and walking near the 4200 block of East Towne Blvd., which is about 1/4 mile away from the crime scene. The teen was arrested. The knife was found in the Dollar Tree parking lot, and a Madison police dog led officers to the cash register, and to the suspect's jacket, both had been tossed following the hold-up.
