Volunteers Needed
Join us for Dog Paddle 2010
2010-08-29
On Sunday, September 12,  Capital K9s will be holding their fourth annual "Dog Paddle" event and we need your help.  It takes approximately 75 volunteers to make this event successful.  It will be a rewarding day full of fun, activities, and a lot of laughs -- all for a worthwhile cause.   The event runs from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Volunteers will receive an event day Volunteer T-Shirt, a free meal ticket and a free pass to bring your dog into the event.  Please review the volunteer schedule below and let me know what shift you would prefer to volunteer for and if there is a specific activity that would be of interest.

 Volunteer Schedule

  • 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. - Shift 1
  • 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Shift 2

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Main Gate - register attendees, provide information, check in volunteers, etc.
  • Exit-only Gate - stand at gate and prevent unauthorized entry
  • Relief Gate - let dogs and their humans in/out as needed
  • Poop Patrol - patrol deck area and ensure clean area including waste removal during event as needed
  • Parking Marshalls - stand in parking lot and direct parking overload to alternative locations.
  • Capital K9 Booth -- man the wheel, merchandise, and provide informational services

Please let us know if you are interested in helping out. The sooner you let us know what shift and activity you want to do, the more likely we can honor your request.  Also, please let me know what size t-shirt you need.

Volunteers are needed to help at fund-raising events and appearances.  Depending on the event, there may be specific duties you are asked to do.   We may just need you to meet and greet the public to provide information on Capital K9s and our mission.

Our Board of Directors is also made up of volunteers.   If you would like to get involved with Capital K9s as a volunteer or apply to be on our board, please email us at  info@capitalk9s.org
